Tryouts are an essential part of any sports program. They offer coaches and trainers a chance to evaluate the skills of potential team members and form teams accordingly. However, tryouts can be a stressful experience for athletes, especially when they fear that they may not make the cut. This raises the question: are there "cuts" during tryouts?

The short answer is YES

While every effort is made to find a program for every athlete, tryouts for Travel Teams, Local Training Groups, Beach Club and Grass Club are often a cut program. This is because of the sheer number of players trying out for a limited number of spots. Coaches and trainers have to select the most suitable athletes to form the team, and unfortunately, not everyone will make it.

Travel Teams, Local Training Groups, Beach Club and Grass Club are programs that are formed through a selective tryout process, often resulting in a limited number of spots for athletes.

What happens to the athlete not making the team?

For any athlete who does not make a team during tryouts, it can be a disappointing experience. However, there are still options available. We recommend joining our camps and clinics since those are first come first served. Our camps and clinics are a great opportunity to improve your skills, gain experience, meet other players, and have fun! This is also an excellent opportunity for coaches to evaluate players in a less competitive environment, and potentially be considered for future team selections.
