What is the difference between each team?
What does “1’s”, “Premier”, “Club” and “National” mean? We group our teams by age and skill level so that players are appropriately challenged and equipped to compete on a regional and national level. The team identifier signifies the competition ranking level of each team. As an example, let’s take a look at our 16’s age division:
-
16-1’s = top team in the age group
- Formed with the top 12 players in the division, consistently in the top-5 nationally
- Players typically have 3+ years of club experience
-
16-Premier = second team in the age group
- Formed with the next best 12 players in the division, consistently in the top-36 nationally
- Players typically have 3+ years of club experience
-
16-Club = third team in the age group
- Formed with the next best 12 players in the division, consistently in the top 64 nationally
- Players typically have 1-2 years of club experience
-
16-National = fourth team in the age group
- Formed with the next best 12 players in the division, consistently in the top-100 nationally
- Players typically have 1-2 years of club experience
-
16-Summer = fifth team in the age group
- Formed with the next best 12 players in the division, consistently in the top-100 nationally
- Teams with the “Summer” identifier are formed during the Summer Add-On Day tryout and only attend the SoCal Cup Showcase. “Summer” teams do not attend AAU Nationals in Orlando, FL
